The grounds will be open to the public everyday from dawn to dusk. In this transitional post-pandemic time, AiO’23 will offer safe, relaxing and enriching opportunities for visitors to experience the sculpture trails as well as all that Park Hill Orchard has to offer. Additional events (such as music, moonlight walks, dance, theater and more) will be programmed throughout the duration of the exhibit. The board of Art in the Orchard is very pleased with this new selection, which will include many works never seen before, and excited to welcome the public to discover these thirty two new artwork on the grounds of Park Hill Orchard, in Easthampton, a hidden gem in the Western Massachusetts cultural landscape. Combined with other nearby cultural destinations, local wineries, breweries, dispensaries, funky shops and really good restaurants, Art in the Orchard is a Must-Do destination, and an ideal day trip from the Boston or New York areas. ####

Seventy six artists from the Capital Region and beyond accepted the challenge, and we will get to see their 25 collaborative drawings for the first time this evening. The Behnke Foundation, Cornish College of the Arts, and the Museum of History and Industry are proud to announce that this year, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Neddy Artist Award, we will be presenting a major exhibition at the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI). Curated by Negarra A. Kudumu, ‘Celebrating Pacific Northwest Artists: 25 Years of the Neddy Awards’ features 34 of the past Neddy grand prize award recipients – some of the most significant Northwest visual artists of the last quarter century. Celebrating a broad range of creativity, this exhibition of contemporary artworks highlights the fruits of creative growth and community-driven support that the Neddy Artist Award program has fostered for the last 25 years.

Tintillation - An Exploration of Color

DONNABELLE CASIS | OPENING RECEPTION FRIDAY OCTOBER 14th 6-8pm Live jazz piano by Rob Fontana *Masks are recommended. Donnabelle Casis is a Filipina-American woman artist working in Western Massachusetts. She is fascinated by visual perception and how meaning is derived from what we see. Casis looks for hidden geometries which may connect discrete perspectives to form a greater whole. Her current works explore the relationship of personal identity to visual systems of signification in both ancient and modern cultures. Donnabelle draws from various sources such as Filipino tribal tattoos and textiles, facial recognition software, cosmology and the philosophy of metaphysics, among others. Filipino tribal imagery is tied to storytelling, marks of accomplishment, and societal roles. Facial recognition software maps physical characteristics which determine one’s visual identity. Her interest in the tangible universe and what transcends experience helps her understand her place in the world and beyond. Donnabelle earned an MFA in painting from the University of Washington in Seattle. She primarily works as a painter, but she has recently explored creating interactive, kinetic sculpture installations. She will install a version of "Kinetic Peripatetic" at Click Workspace to be experienced for one night only during the opening reception on October, 14th. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries across the US and abroad at venues including Platform Gallery, PULP, Albany Center Gallery, Tacoma Art Museum, Newport Art Museum, among others. Donnabelle has received numerous awards and grants, including the Neddy Artist Fellowship for painting granted by the Behnke Foundation, and grants from the Northampton Arts Council/Massachusetts Cultural Council. Her work is included in several public and private collections. Additionally, she hosts a weekly radio segment called ArtBeat Report which highlights local artists and arts organizations on Fridays on the Bill NewmanShow/WHMP. Donnabelle is also co-curator at the ArtSalon and is a Board member of Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity. She also founded and continues to produce an annual community arts street festival called Florence Night Out. Annually, The Albany Center Gallery selects artists from the previous year’s Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region exhibit, a rotating, juried exhibition. The Artists of the Mohawk-Hudson Region show highlights the work of some of the best visual artists in the region and is always one of the area’s most prestigious and popular shows. For the first time in the exhibition’s history, the 2021 Mohawk-Hudson Regional was hosted at three separate locations, each of which had a different juror selecting work. 97 artists were selected to have their work on display this past fall at Albany Center Gallery, Opalka Gallery, and/or the Albany International Airport Gallery from a submission pool of over 500 regional artists. The gallery is honored to provide these seven accomplished and distinguished artists with an opportunity to showcase their work in greater depth. The 2022 Mohawk-Hudson Regional Invitational is curated by ACG Curatorial Associate Jennie Tang. The exhibition is made possible by ACG Premier Sponsors Howard Hanna & David Phaff; and Kevin Dubner, Partner & Wealth Manager at Steward Partners Global Advisory, LLC.
